We’re supposed to read fanfic about people we love, but that’s not always the case…
When the Epstein files got released, emails between Donald Trump and Bill Clinton lead to some very questionable fanfics. Yes, people are shipping them. But it’s not because they actually like them.
There are 388 fics found on AO3 with the Donald Trump and Bill Clinton pairing, but this stat just touches the surface of a much larger phenomenon.
The far right and other influential red pill men are getting their very own fanfics written, with scenarios they wouldn’t be caught dead in.
Ali Dawah and Akhi Ayman, nicknamed the ‘Dawah Bros’, are two popular muslim influencers and podcast hosts who center their content around traditional values and how the West has supposedly corrupted muslim women.
“It’s quite funny when you look at it because it’s using something that they find abhorrent (homesexuality) against them,” Nasreen told me over the phone.
Nasreen, not her real name, is a practising muslim woman, who runs a political twitter account and frequently speaks out against the red pill influencers in her own muslim community. She agreed to this interview provided we don’t reveal her account name due to fears of being harassed and doxxed.
“Both of these men are heavily misogynistic. They want to celebrate toxic masculinity, and that’s why people have shipped them together. It’s a way to get back at them, ” she explains.
It first started with edits in November 2025 from a video 11 years ago, where the Dawah Bros discussed marriage and what Hijab should look like for women. In particular, it was Akhi Ayman who boasted about marrying a divorced woman as if it was a favour.
Ayman served a prison sentence for gang related violence and Ali Dawah also has a past of gang activity.
“They were making lots of eye contact, looking at each other super deeply, listening attentively and that’s what drove the edits.
“The edits do oddly make the ship seem like a very realistic possibility,” Nasreen said.
“I would be interested to know whether they have that much chemistry with their wives as they make them speak on whiteboards for podcasts.
“They see men as their equal and it’s a lot easier to have chemistry or feelings with someone that’s not your subordinate.”
It appears that Nasreen is not alone with this theory as more fanfics and AI videos started popping up about the men in early 2026.
A popular content creator called Jalal (@jalalnx on TikTok) with over 150k followers started writing their own fanfiction about Ali Dawah and Akhi Aymen, doing readings of their work on TikTok live.
Jalal comes from a muslim family and came out as queer when they were a teenager, leading them to be sadly cut off from family.
“It’s cathartic for a queer man or ex muslims to be making this content. Often they’re targeted by these ideologies but fanfic allows them to take back control and get back at the people which hurt them.” Nasreen said.
“Its about making fun of these villains. If Akhi were to find these fics and videos he would be outraged.”
There has been some internal fighting amongst critics of the Dawah Bros, believing that fanfics putting two conservative men in a gay relationship as a way of mockery, makes queer identities the punchline of a joke.
Nasreen also understands that it could be doing more harm than good.
“I am a little worried that these fics have let misogyny off the hook. Instead of saying that their hate should be tackled and they need to take responsibility, it absolves them from it when you say it is just the fact that they have repressed feelings for men,” she said.
But if it’s queer men writing these fics then who are we to tell them to stop?
Fanfic used to delegitimise political villains, makes it harder for these red pill men to be taken seriously. The art of using fanfic as revenge is just another way of self expression and putting control back into your own hands.
If it makes them second guess their every move so it won’t get spun into the very thing they hate. Good. Have fun and keep writing these fics.
